The incident took place after a 3-year-old baby elephant slipped over the waterfall. The waterfall titled as Haew Narok (Hell's Fall), has a history of similar incidents.

After officials came into action, two other elephants who were found struggling on a cliff edge nearby have been moved. According to Thailand's Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation (DNP) officials said that when we reached we saw that a group of elephants was blocking a road by the waterfall.

Hours later, the body of a three-year-old elephant was spotted near the base of Haew Narok, and five other bodies were discovered nearby, officials further added.

Meanwhile, Edwin Wiek, the founder of Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand, said the pair that has been moved will be difficult to survive as elephants rely on their large herds for protection and finding food.
