Facebook Dating Now Available To Some Users; Here's How You Can Find Love

Earlier in May, Facebook had announced a dating feature for its platform. Now, the feature has been made available for a number of users. The social media giant has made the feature available for some users on a trial basis.

Unlike Tinder, where one has to swipe left or right, Facebook Dating works in a different way. You will have to make the first move directly and then hope for the best. It is similar to how dating works in real life.

The dating feature is only offered to users who are 18 years or older. Also, apparently the users must have their relationship status set to "single". Users will first have to create a Dating profile.

To build a profile, users will have to provide their location details using mobile GPS. The dating matches will then be limited to 100 kms around your location. Once you're profile is created, Facebook algorithms will use all the provided data to figure out relevant matches for you.

If you see a "match", you will have to send them a message. However, users cannot send pictures. Once you send the message, you won't be able to see the person's profile until you get a reply. If you get a reply, the conversation will move to a Conversation Tab.

So when will Facebook Dating come to India? Hopefully in coming months. For now it has only been introduced in Colombia on a trial basis.
