“We don’t want to give false hope,” Radhakrishnan IAS Opens up on Sujith Rescue Operation Status
Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsThe 2-year-old boy Sujith Wilson from TN Nadukaatupatti Village, Trichy has been in the prayers of all the humanitarians as “PrayForSurjeeth” trends on Social media. In an interview given to BBC Tamil Commissioner of Revenue Administration, Dr J. RadhaKrishnan IAS said the following statements.
“Sujith went into the borewell at around 5:30 PM on 25th October. Many volunteers even from overseas lend their guidance to us. We have also called a team from Punjab. But the fact is that the hole is 4 and a half inches. When you watch it on television it appears to be large. We even deployed German machines. For sending a balloon, we need to have a bigger space”.
“Further, we have been doing these operations under the guidance of NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) commander and SDFR (State Disaster Response Force) commander. As we dig inside we could find the rocks such as quads and feldspar"
"On the other side, I would like to say that we have been mentally assisting the boy's parents. We don't want to give false hope. At the same time, we have been accepting all sorts of guidance by people from NLC Lignite, ONGC and L&T”
On asked about the present status of digging operation, he said "We have dug 80 feet so far and placed the boy under airlock. On the other side, we had to dig 98 feet out of which we have dug 40 feet. Once we reach 98 feet, we would have to carry out the final steps to rescue the boy”.
