Chennai: Doctors fix girl's spine using rope

A 14-year-old girl had a curved spine and every doctor suggested surgeries to insert metal screws to cure her. Shreya Verma from Noida had an S-shaped spine and was only suggested intricate surgeries by doctors.

However, a Chennai surgeon cured Verma in the simplest way possible. The teen underwent a surgery at Apollo Hospitals in Chennai. A flexible wire was inserted to get rid of the curve. The wire will reportedly not restrict mobility.

Shreya Verma greeted her surgeon, Dr Shajan Hegde with a bouquet in less than a week of surgery. Shreya had become taller by 2 cm and is not in pain anymore.
