This Photo Of An Indian Cricketer Tying Shoelace Of A Pakistani Player On-Field Is Winning Hearts
Home > Sports newsAn India vs Pakistan match is nothing short of a war. At least for the people watching. Emotions were on a high, as always, during their Asia Cup clash yesterday.
But away from all the tension and trolling, there are moments that calm down the nerves on both sides and prove why cricket is called a 'gentleman's game'. In an image that has been doing rounds on internet, Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal can be seen helping his Pakistani counterpart.
Mid-way through the match, Usman Khan was having trouble while running on the pitch. Chahal, who was bowling the 42nd over, came to his aid. Chahal knelt down, and tied Khan's shoelaces. The tender and beautiful moment was caught by the camera. And fans couldn't help but laud Chahal for his gesture.
While the war like situation is all pervasive in both the countries, tender moments like this on the pitch lifts the game of cricket into a gentleman’s game #INDvPAK pic.twitter.com/Q8W0L5MZWH

Tying an opponent's shoelaces is like one of those unwritten rules of cricket.

Remember from one of Sunil Gavaskar's memoirs on how one of the Indian players asked an Aussie player (in Marathi) to tie up his laces. Would have been quite a comic scene.
Sports man spirit.
