Virat Kohli misses DRS without Dhoni - Is this what Team India without Dhoni will be like?
Home > News Shots > Sports newsIndia played against Bangladesh in the 40th match of ICC World Cup 2019 at Edgbaston on Tuesday. India won Bangladesh by 28 runs and entered Semi-finals.
After 10 overs of the Match, Dhoni skipped wicketkeeping and went to dressing room while Rishabh Pant took his place.
Shami bowled the 11th over and hit Soumya Sarkar on the pads. There was a huge appeal for a leg before wicket. On-field umpire ruled it not out and Virat Kohli took a review and it was ruled not out by the third umpire as well and India lost their only review.
Kohli was soon seen getting into an argument with the umpire. TV replays after the DRS call shed light on what could have irked Kohli. Had Dar used ball-tracking, it would have been umpire's call touching the leg stump. Teams do not lose reviews on umpire's call.
Dhoni, who is India's best judge of DRS, was missing and India lost their only review. Fans in Twitter was wondering where Dhoni went only to spot him back again as a keeper a couple of overs later.
Dhoni is in the verge of announcing his retirement and already India is suffering due to his absence though only for minutes.
