Home > News Shots > Sports newsIn the ongoing ODI against Afghanistan, West Indies captain and skipper Kieron Pollard makes a smart move on the field. Pollard has always been known for his wits to match his humor as he usually does, leaving everyone amazed.
However, during the third match against Afghanistan, Pollard outdid himself by being a smart player which left the on-field umpire shocked and embarrassed.
The moment was captured when the West Indies all-rounder tried to break a partnership between Asghar Afghan and Najibullah Zadran.
This incident happened in the 25th over of the game. Pollard, who was about to deliver the ball, within seconds heard that the umpire very loudly shouted ‘No’. He was quick to hear the call and in that time, retracted from releasing the ball.
With no ball out for delivery, the call had to be changed to the dead ball instead. This moment left the umpire shocked and amused at the same time.
After which, he let out a smile while Pollard went back to deliver the next ball. That moment left, the batsman, umpire and the commentators what Pollard had just done.
With this delivery, Pollard successfully converted a no-ball into a dead ball. This match was Afghanistan's strong comeback after they lost the first match by seven wickets and the second by 47 runs.
