IPL Could have 9 Teams from 2020, Says Report!

A report by the Times of India claims that the board might include a team representing Ahmedabad as The Sardar Patel Stadium in Motera with a capacity to host around 1.1 lakh is under construction and will be ready to open likely by March, next year.

“There will be takers, given the following for cricket in Ahmedabad and the resources available there. So, if a tender is brought out for one franchise right now, there’ll certainly be great amount of interest and will set a benchmark for the future,” a source was quoted as saying by TOI.

Earlier, a report suggested that two teams might get added in the next two seasons.

From Ajinkya Rahane to Ravichandran Ashwin, the IPL trading window was full of surprise transfers. With Kolkata gearing up to host the auction for the coming edition of IPL on December 19, all the franchises are expected to rope in some fresh talents to form a solid squad.
