Woman Kills Infant Daughter; Says She 'Brought Bad Luck' To Family

In a shocking incident being reported from New Delhi, a 27-year-old woman allegedly strangulated her seven-month-old daughter as she believed that the baby was responsible for the hardships faced by the family.

The accused, identified as Adiba Khan, strangulated her baby on August 20. In an attempt to cover up the incident, she made it seem like an accident. The woman initially told the police that her daughter drowned in a bucket of water at their residence.

When the baby arrived at the hospital, the authorities alerted the police about the arrival and condition of the baby. The police found marks on the baby's neck. The post-mortem report revealed that the baby had died of strangulation.

Upon interrogation by the police, Adiba confessed that she killed her daughter. The woman used a dupatta to strangulate the baby, and later put her body inside a bucket of water to make it look like she had died of drowning, police officials said.
