In a shocking case, a gangster from Uttar Pradesh escaped from police custody after he threw a liquor party for policemen in a hotel in Meerut.

The gangster has been identified as Badan Singh, who was convicted last year for the murder of a lawyer in 1996. He has currently 10 cases of murder, extortion and robbery booked against him.

According to NDVT,  the policemen were taking the gangster from Fatehgarh Central Jail to a court in Ghaziabad, for a hearing. While on their way back to the jail, the policemen stop at a hotel in Meerut where the gangster threw a liquor party.

While the policemen were enjoying themselves, the gangster escaped from that hotel.

Hours after the incident, the policemen informed other officials about the missing gangster.

A case has been registered in this regard, while an inspector and six other police personnel have been detained in this matter.
