Home > News Shots > India newsGang wars are common but witnessing it in broad day light is an uncommon sight to watch. Recently, two gangsters were killed after a shootout took place between two rival gangs near the Dwarka Mor metro station in South West Delhi on Sunday.
The shootout was an outcome of a property dispute, which was worth Rs 1 crore.
According to NDTV reports, the two gangsters-Vikas Dalal and Praveen Gehlot-who were killed in the shootout were trying to grab the plot. Gehlot and Dalal had several cases of murders, extortion and robberies registered against them in Delhi and Haryana. The shooters had come in a Maruti Swift car and a motorcycle and left the bike a few meters ahead of the crime spot.
The incident took place around 4:00 pm when three men in a car intercepted another car in which Gehlot was travelling and opened fire at him. Fifteen rounds were fired in the busy area, leading to panic among commuters, NDTV report added.
According to a senior police officer, a police officials in a PCR van near the metro station reached the spot and fired gunshots at the criminals and killed one of them. While, two people involved in the shootout managed to flee from the scene.
The police later claimed that they have identified the other two men and efforts are on to arrest them. Raids have been conducted at multiple locations and the vehicles used by the gangsters have been sent for forensic analysis. A case of murder has been registered at Bindapur police station.
