Minor rape victim thrashed in public, video goes viral

A 15-year-old pregnant rape victim had recently lodged a complaint that she was raped at Kanker district in Chattisgarh. A video of her thrashed in public went viral on social media, just two days after her complaint.

Another video of a woman physically assaulted from the same district also circulated on social media. Reportedly, the minor was raped in the house of the woman from the video. Both the videos were taken during a meeting held in the village on September 9.

According to the girl, the rape happened three months ago. It was only on September 8 when she informed her mother about the incident. A day later, the meeting was held and the accused caught and handed over to the police.

The reason as to why the victim was thrashed is still not clear.
