3 MBBS students killed after iron rods pierce through bodies in accident

Three second-year MBBS students identified as Prajwal, Vishal and Bhushan of Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences were killed on the spot after the car they were travelling in rammed into a stationary truck from behind at Devanahalli traffic police station limits in Bengaluru on early Wednesday. The truck was loaded with iron rods that pierced through their bodies.

Another final-year medical student Krishna Raj who was driving the car sustained severe injuries.

The police have registered a case of negligence under Section 337 and 338 of IPC against the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) as there were no street lights. The driver of the truck is absconding.

A case has been registered against both Krishna Raj and the truck driver as well for criminal negligence.
