Producer turned director Mahi V Raghav has come up with an entertaining horror comedy flick Anando Brahma featuring the likes of Taapsee, Srinivas Reddy, Shakalaka Shankar, Vennela Kishore and Thagubothu Ramesh as leads.
Taapsee is the only big name associated with this film, but it is not a female centric film that uses Taapsee's image. The script is made in such a way that every main lead is given enough attention and screen time. Anando Brahma is a typical comedy horror movie, which revolves around the story of a haunted house. Plot wise, there is nothing much to talk about but the screenplay has few positives.
It starts with a few cliched scary moments which would please horror film lovers. But it doesn't travel in the horror space for long. The screenplay then moves to an emotional terrain before landing in a wave of fun humor moments. The concept of humans scaring ghosts looked fresh and can be considered as the film’s USP. There are a few scenes that could make you laugh wholeheartedly.
A classic example of a smart idea that could quickly have run out of steam halfway. But the screenplay was tight enough not to let that happen, unlike other recent horror comedy film. It sliced with enough twists, character development, and small set pieces to keep the comedy boiling.
