Remade from the Malayalam movie Traffic, Chennaiyil Oru Naal directed by Shaheed Kader is about the race against time in which many parallel stories converge. Based on a real life incident, the film had an ensemble cast consisting of Sarath Kumar, Cheran, Prakash Raj, Radhikaa, Parvathi Menon, Prasanna, Jayaprakash, Lakshmy Ramakrishnan and Iniya. Suriya made a cameo advocating organ donation.
