Here we bring you the best happenings of Kollywood from the just passed week
Vijay’s father SA Chandrasekhar during a recent event spoke about his thoughts on politics. Based on his speech, a section of media has been reporting that SA Chandrasekhar said that he would not allow his son Vijay to enter politics.
When we called SAC to clarify this statement, this is what he said, “I never said that Vijay would not enter politics. I initially had an idea to enter politics, but today, politics has become dirty and I have made up my mind not to step into it. That was my statement, and it had nothing to do with Vijay, and I am not sure what his plans are.”
Heavy rumors have been doing rounds stating that Superstar Rajinikanth would be sporting five different getups and Akshay Kumar would be seen in 12 avatars in the Shankar directorial 2.0.
However, the ace director, himself has clarified about this rumour through his official Twitter handle. When a fan, asked Shankar if Rajini and Akshay Kumar will be seen in different get-ups, he immediately denied the rumour with a single word reply, 'no.'
The film is said to have so many surprises in store for the audience. The team of 2.0 is targeting for a 2017 Diwali release.
Actress Lakshmy Ramakrishnan is one person who never shies away from speaking her mind no matter how controversial it might sound. Now she has expressed her thoughts about women objectification. Here is a compilation of her tweets and her replies regarding this issue.
“If we dont objectify ourselves, we can raise voice against other people doing so! We should not use our body as a tool. How can we demand respect from others when we don't respect ourselves? Are girl's bodies show pieces?”
When one of her followers bashed her saying she was shallow minded, Lakshmy Ramakrishnan replied, “ya? Broadminded Ness is making our body a tool, & then complain about objectification?! Shud we not grow above these basics?”
“I am old fashioned, may be old, but, I still feel as media people,v need to be responsible! Not judging anyone, but trying to make a point. I tell the same thing to my girls, argue with them, I tell myself the same thing! We are not objects of beauty...we are much above all that.”
“#Vijay & #Ajith dont dress in skimpy clothes?Bcas it doesn't look good? Heroines do it as it looks sensuous? So... purpose of dress here?” Another follower of hers asked why does she drag Vijay and Ajith’s name in this issue. For which her reply was, “do you even understand what I said?! I said they dress up well & don't objectify their bodies. avangka udamba oru porulaa payan paduthalannu sonnen... thappana mannichukkappa. Unknowingly all of us use our bodies as tools...only degree varies, right & wrong is relative, Self imposed discipline is the only solution!”

Vijay fans and others started to speculate a specially designed picture (clicked in a mobile phone) to be the first look of Vijay 61, and the title to be Moondru Mugam.
When we checked with sources close to Vijay 61 camp, they strongly denied this as a fan-made design, as they haven’t zeroed in on the film’s title. Within the few minutes of clarification, the full poster with the designer’s credits was out and only then, the rumour got settled down. It was designed by a fan, who goes by the name STR Aathi.
Vijay 61 team are all set to go for Rajasthan next week for the next schedule.
In an exclusive interview with T Rajendar, we had asked him about the memes made on him after his speech at Puli audio launch event. And this was his reply to all the meme makers:
“Everybody could sing or speak in a bathroom, but not many could do that on a stage. That day I talked about Vijay (someone who l admire) amidst his fans and won their appreciation. I was trending in 3rd spot after that speech at Puli event. How many of these meme makers could do that? Everyone could create ‘memes’ or ‘mams’ or ‘songs,' but not everyone can improvise and speak like that. வைரம் வைரம் தான்”.
TR was in his usual form, and it was a fun chat session. Stay tuned for the full interview!
Rumours started to come in from yesterday, saying that Suriya would be making a guest appearance in the biopic of Savithri, Nadigaiyar Thilagam. It was said that he would be playing the role of Gemini Ganesan in the film.
When we checked with Rajsekar Pandian, the co-producer of 2D Entertainment and Suriya's close friend, he denied this as a baseless rumour. After Thaanaa Serndha Koottam, Suriya is expected to concentrate on his project with director Selvaraghavan, produced by Dream Warrior Pictures.
Nadigaiyar Thilagam, features Keerthy Suresh, playing the title role, while Samantha will be playing a very important role. The film, directed by Nag Ashwin, is made as a Tamil/Telugu bilingual.
In an exclusive interview with Behindwoods, producer T Siva of Amma Creations talked about actors not willing to take part in promotional events held by the producers.
“It is a difficult affair to conduct a promotional program and to make an artist attend the event. 'If that artist does not attend, why should I,' we get only comments like that when we ask an actor to take part in an event. That disease is spreading in Kollywood now.”
Can’t we make an agreement with the actors to cooperate for promotional events? “They agree to a film only after signing an agreement that they will not attend promotional events. Producers have no other go to accept whatever they say as all they want is their call sheet. At least you should reach that spot to deny attending promotional events. Take Ajith for example; he gets an opening that no one else could get, that is mainly because you can never see him anywhere else except on screen. No one can see him including us. His shooting, his spot and his house; that is how his routine goes. In that way, he makes himself the actor in demand and that reflects in the humongous opening his film garners. I can accept if Ajith says no to promotions, but I feel bad when a recently established actor or sometimes even one film old stars are rejecting to attend promotional events. How will you grow then? You are following Ajith’s way but how will you reach his height?”
The official announcement on the Tamil remake of Pelli Choopulu is out, which is being produced by Gautham Vasudev Menon's Ondraga Entertainment in association with Kondaduvom Entertainment.
