Vishal's Namma Ani team, including Gautham Menon, Prakash Raj, S.R.Prabhu, K.E.Gnanavel Raja, and others, had won the Producers Council election, which took place yesterday (April 2), at Kandasamy Naidu College, Anna Nagar, Chennai.
After the triumph, as the newly elected president of the Producers Council, Vishal said, "It feels so great to be selected as the new President of the Producers Council. Thank you so much. The next two years, it is going to be the golden period of Tamil cinema. If youngsters get out to the field and try their hands out, the final result will be a victory. I thank the Justice Mr.Rajeswaran sir; I thank all the voters, our bosses, and all producers who came forward and believed in us. Their belief will not go in vain. I thank all the police officers and the media. We are going to take Tamil Cinema forward. The Producers Council is going to witness a never before seen, historical change in the next two years. That is all I can say for now.
Our first work now, after winning the elections, is to help our farmers. After that, we will work for the betterment of the council, as per the requests made by the producers. And as we have now come to power, all our enemies, Tamilrockers and everyone, get ready, The fight is on!"
Karthik Kumar, the husband of singer, actress and RJ Suchitra, is better known for his skills in stand-up comedy. He has performed in various shows all over the world and has received good responses for the same.
Post the controversy that took center stage almost a month ago, the couple had decided to take a break and settle down in the USA for a while. Today, on his social media pages, Karthik posted a short video informing us about his next comedy show.
In the video, KK imitates Joker (Batman) and says, ''Sitting in the USA, writing my new comedy special, releasing in September 2017! What is it about?'' and he pans the camera to his wife Suchitra, who is seated beside him and then brings the focus back to himself and says, ''Take a wild guess''.
It appears that Karthik is going to make jokes about the whole #SuchiLeaks controversy and clear the air as the issue's seriousness has subsided now. We will have to wait and see if these jokes receive a positive nod from the audience or not!
As reported earlier, the 3rd schedule of Vijay 61 has kick-started in Rajasthan. We are told that one song, one fight scene, and few talkies portion are planned to be canned in this phase of shooting. Both Vijay and Nithya Menen will take part in this schedule. Photos of Nithya Menen in Jaisalmer airport can be found in social media pages.
Team Vijay 61 is delighted with the track that AR Rahman has given to them. The song will supposedly signify the rise of a hero. Interesting right? AR Rahman is composing for a Vijay film after ten years, and fans of both the stalwarts are excited about how the songs would be.
TV artist Myna Nandhini’s husband Karthik had committed suicide a couple of days ago. Now, as per reports, a suicide note allegedly written by Karthik points a finger at Nandhini’s dad Rajendran.
According to the note, Rajendran had separated Nandhini from Karthik for financial reasons. Karthik’s note further says, “I tried to talk to Nandhini many times over the phone, but Rajendran came in between and stopped. I am committing suicide due to the mental agony caused because of this. He had even blocked my call. He is only wholly responsible for my suicide”.
Reports also suggest that the police are investigating the case based on this note and might interrogate Rajendran.
G.V.Prakash has become a very busy actor, who has various interesting projects in his kitty. His upcoming films include Adangathey, Sarvam Thaala Maayam, Naachiyaar, Sema, Ayngaran, Kuppathu Raja, untitled Vetri Maaran film, untitled Ezhil's film and much more. Adding to all these, we hear that the Darling actor is expected to sign one more film.
We are told by our reliable sources that G.V.Prakash might most probably do a film under Seeman's direction. Though Seeman is currently busy with his political commitments, it is believed that he will wear his directorial hat in a few days of time. The film is said to be titled as 'Kobam,' and the details about the rest of the cast and crew are not yet finalized.
Meanwhile, it is also rumored that Seeman might direct his dream project Pagalavan with Vijay Antony as the lead hero, however, the status of the project is unknown.
Popular distributor and theatre exhibitor Tiruppur Subramaniam during a recent interview with Behindwoods spoke about why actor Vijay should not do negative roles in his films.
“Vijay called me 2 days after the release of Priyamudan in which he played a negative role. I told Vijay not to do a gray shaded role again. People see him like MGR and Rajinikanth, and they want him to act only in positive character roles. Vijay obliged my request back then. Again, he did a negative role in Azhagiya Tamil Magan, but people did not accept that. If Vijay does a negative role, people won’t like it, but they accept it when Ajith does the same.”

Vikram’s next film will no longer be called as Chiyaan 53. The film has been titled as Sketch. It is surprising to see a big film named in English. Do they have a Tamil title in mind too? Will they change the title for tax exemption purpose later? We will have to wait and see.
Tamannaah plays the female lead in this movie directed by Vaalu Vijay Chander while SS Thaman is the man in charge of the music department.
Director Siva might well be the lucky man to direct Superstar Rajinikanth’s next project after Pa Ranjith’s film. According to our sources, Siva is currently working on a script for Rajinikanth and will supposedly narrate it to him very soon.
You could ask us what are the odds of Siva directing Rajinikanth if he has not narrated the story to Rajini yet? But what many people may not know is that Rajini had apparently approached Siva to direct a film even before Kabali happened but at that time, Siva did not have a script ready for Rajinikanth but now he is ostensibly preparing a ‘pakka’ mass script ready for Superstar. We hope the meeting takes place soon and we wish things fall in place.
Stay tuned for more details!
