Here we present you the Top 10 news of the week
The complete shoot of Vijay 61 will supposedly be wrapped before July end. And the team would work on the post-production for 2 months after which they will have at least a month of cushion time before its actual release in October for Diwali.
Vijay 61’s overseas schedule got wrapped very recently and the team is on a small break right now before beginning the next phase of the shoot in India. Samantha, as reported earlier, would join the sets in this schedule.
Though the previous schedules have been exhaustive, the team is apparently having so much fun on sets. When there is a good synergy within the team, their fullest potential comes out. We believe a similar output from this star-studded team as well.
We had reported earlier today that, Balaji Mohan will be making an announcement and that it is not about his Maari 2 with Dhanush. As we had predicted, it has been announced by the Maari director through his Twitter handle that it is about his Tamil web series. This Tamil original web series has been titled as “As I’m Suffering From Kadhal.”
Balaji Mohan, released a poster that had the cast and crew details. This included a few known faces like Nakshathra Nagesh, Abishek Joseph George, Sananth Reddy, Dhanya Balakrishna, Sundar and Balaji Mohan himself.
The director is known for creating quirky content that is packaged commercially. The best example was his debut movie Kadhalil Sodhapuvadhu Yeppadi with actor Siddharth and Amala Paul. It became a sensation post it’s release. Will this web series also live upto the expectations that Balaji has created through his previous works? We shall have to wait to find out.
As of now, he has announced that the trailer will be releasing tomorrow (June 4th, 2017). It has been created, produced, written and directed by Balaji himself. Editing has been handled by Prasanna Gk and Balaji Mohan. Cinematography is helmed by Shiva Grn and music by Satish. Looks like a promising young team with an innovative new concept to entertain the audiences through the digital medium.
Dhanush’s next film with director Vetri Maaran is the much awaited and talked about Vada Chennai. As of now, the star cast consists of Dhanush, Aishwarya Rajesh, Andrea Jeremiah, Daniel Balaji, Kishore and Samuthirakani.
The latest information from close sources suggest that director Ameer will also be a part of this bombastic star cast. Ameer has previously acted in the Tamil film Yogi and has made special appearances in other movies too. Cinematography for the film is handled by Velraj and the technical crew seems to be strong too, backing up the ensemble star cast.
Legendary Telugu filmmaker Dasari Narayana Rao passed away today, 30th of May. He was 75 years old and was admitted to KIMS hospital in Hyderabad last week. However, his health condition had been critical for the past few months.
Dasari Narayana Rao had directed over 151 films. He had produced over 50 films and had been a writer for more than 250 films. He was planning to direct a biopic on the late political icon of Tamil Nadu, J Jayalalitha. His sudden death has left the entire Tollywood industry in shock.

As reported earlier Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru director Karthick Naren’s next film would be
Naragasooran starring three leads. It would be jointly produced by Karthick Naren and Gautham Menon. Arvind Swami and Indrajith have already been finalized, and the latest hero to join the team would be Maanagaram star Sundeep Kishan. Apparently, he signed the deal only by late last night.
When we got in touch with Karthick Naren to gather more information about Naragasooran, this is what he had to say, “Yes, Sundeep is on board. We are planning to kick start the shoot by August end or early September, but the film would hit the screens only in 2018. We might release a first look poster in this month. Maya fame Ron Ethan Yohaan will be in charge of music.”

Actor Kamal Haasan, who addressed the media at a recent press meet, is clearly not happy with the way the GST (Goods and Services tax) rates have been set for the Tamil film industry. The actor expressed his dissatisfaction with regard to this whopping high GST percentage, which has been proposed to be as high as 28 percent. At the press meet, Kamal Haasan said:
“It is very clear that if the GST is as high as 28 percent, it is going to ruin the regional film industry. I really think 12 percent was ideal and my kindest request to consider bringing it down. I will quit cinema if these extremely high GST rates are not removed by the government.
It has to be noted that we are Kollywood and they cannot charge us at Hollywood standards. This 28 percent is not healthy for the growth of Tamil cinema which might perish at this rate. Cinema is not like gambling, it is an art. So I request the government to look into this issue and reduce the GST.”
