Diwali is always a special day for Kollywood, with films of big stars releasing in a grand manner. Last year’s Diwali witnessed Ajith Kumar’s Vedalam and Kamal Haasan’s Thoongavanam releasing together. As told earlier, this year’s Diwali will see the releases of Karthi’s Kaashmora and Dhanush’s Kodi. The latest to join this list is Vishal’s Kathi Sandai.
Official team members from these movies announced that their respective films will release on Diwali. Apart from this, the recent buzz going around Kollywood circle is that, there are chances of Suriya’s S3 releasing on Diwali.
When we checked with S.R.Prabhu of Dream Warrior Pictures to know if this would result in postponement of Kaashmora’s release, he said “We booked the Diwali date long back, and no official confirmation has come from the team of S3 regarding the release date. If at all they decide to release S3 on Diwali, we will work it out accordingly, but for the moment, our film, Kaashmora will release for Diwali.” All the three confirmed films are very much expected from the audience, and we will have to wait and see if S3 will join this race.
The censor board (CBFC) has mostly made the headlines for wrong reasons. It is quite disappointing that no industry personality or media bother to appreciate the censor board when they do something right. In the case of movie Joker, the censor board needs a round of applause for not touching few hard hitting dialogues. It was good to see a bold film about politics after a long time; thanks to the uncompromising, straight from the heart dialogues of Raju Murugan. And thanks to the censor board for the giving the required freedom for an honest creator. We at Behindwoods request the CBFC to continue to support good works like Joker in the future as well.
