Song sequences are generally dance progressions or montages. Very rarely do we see a video like that of “Mersalaayiten” from ‘I’, where the video is based on a concept. Here’s a list of the most creative song videos in Kollywood:

MANKATHA - VADA BIN LAADA

The song’s video features graphical transformation of the interiors of a house based on the colour of Ajith and Trisha’s costumes, which also keeps changing.

NEELA VAANAM - MANMATHAN AMBU

In this ingenious concept, the song video progresses in reverse. It is said that Kamal Hassan played the song in reverse and memorized it in order to lip sync for it!

MELLA SIRITHAI - KALYANA SAMAYAL SADHAM

In “Mella Sirithai”, the director creatively portrays the pre wedding tamasha between the couple through montages of Facebook posts.

DEIVA THIRUMAGAL - KADHA SOLLA

Cuteness overloaded, as the song creatively portrays the efforts of Vikram to tell a convincing tale to Baby Sara.

BUCK BUCK - PARTHIBAN KANAVU

The song features Srikanth and Sneha in a video which transforms from retro to modern times.

NEETHANE - SARVAM

“Vibathukkkal enakkul nadakkave, un ninaivugal thappi sella vaikudhey” is the concept behind the song’s visuals which features Arya escaping accidents in the nick of the moment.

VILLATHI VILLAIN - RAJAPATTAI

“Villathi Villain” as the name suggests features Vikram in the shoes of every possible villain character- a pirate, a bandit, a drug lord, a mafioso, and a comic villain, while Deeksha Seth grooves to the peppy number alongside him.

RAJA CHINNA ROJA - RAJA CHINNA ROJA

The song features Rajinikanth and Gauthami along with child artists while cartoon characters interlude in the video.

THILLALANGADI - SOL PECHU

“Sol paechu kaekatha sunthariyae, nilluna nikkama thulluriyae” is the redundant line in the song, which multiple replicas of Tamannaah seem to tell the original Tamannaah in this creative song video.
