After just releasing a very successful and well appreciated album called ‘Elay’ in Late December, Staccato releases its Valentine’s Day special single called Neela Vaan. It certainly one of the best independent singles released in Tamil recently with enough musical richness oozing as we have become used to this Chennai-based band. The voice of Gowtham is quite powerful as he shows his full range in the very initial phase of the song itself and then the combination of him and Niranjana is simply too melodious especially the line that says “Naam tholaitha naangu vassantham meetteduppoma”.Then the interlude starts off with the acoustic guitar in the background and the brilliant violin solo dominates the proceedings only to completely fill the heart with love and joy. I love the way the entire stanza is sung by both the male and female lead together and lot of credit goes to the very touching and effective lyrics.
