The one reason why this song did not top the ranking is because it obviously lost out on the points allocated to the singer who is none other than the composer Santhosh Narayanan. He is not blessed with great singing skills but here he does perform in a way that suits the style of the song. Other than that this song is a very rich composition, with very apt lyrics talking about the farmer. I love the instrumentation especially in the interlude when the Nadaswaram by D. Balasubramani dominates at first, and then it is accompanied brilliantly by Naveen's bass guitars. The stanza's hero is the acoustic guitar played brilliantly by Keba and he leads the way and gives a wonderful touch when it ends. Santhosh just about does his bit delivering the lyrics with a rustic style. Ananthus harmonies when the line says "saname en saname" steals my heart every-time I listen to it.
