Vaagai Sooda Vaa: With old radio sets, oiled hairdo and the sepia-toned cinematography, Vaagai Sooda Vaa captures the time and place of the sixties with great detail, as we see a reluctant teacher (played by Vemal) rise for a hamlet of exploited brick kiln workers. Thambi Ramaiah is a riot as the riddle-spouting man, who challenges everyone in his village to solve his brain teasers.
