Mankatha: Mankatha was a brave attempt at telling a story of unabashedly bad and greedy guys within a star-driven film. Ajith broke the conventions of a regular Kollywood "hero" with his portrayal of Vinayak Mahadevan, a greedy ex-cop with salt-and-pepper hairstyle. The film's ending teases the beginning of an exciting sequel. Yuvan Shankar Raja's score adds to the edgy, grey-shaded world portrayed in the film.
