REKKA SONGS REVIEW

Vijay Sethupathi Lakshmi Menon starrer Rekka is a Rathina Shiva directorial for which D.Imman has composed the songs. The songs released today, 25th September and here’s how they spelled out:

Virru Virru

Singer - Jithin Raj
Lyrics - Yugabharathi

This is the first track to be released as part of the album. It has typical elements to it that adhere to the tried and tested formulae. Nonetheless, it still works, credits to the pumping voice lent by Jithin Raj and lyrics by Yugabharathi.

Kanna Kaattu Podhum 

Singer - Shreya Ghoshal
Lyrics - Yugabharathi

Kanna Kaattu is Shreya Ghoshal’s voice romancing with D.Imman’s creative folk beats! There is melody, magic and more in this song, which makes it an easy hit. The song should work out visually also. 

Pollapaiyya

Singer - Haricharan and Shweta Mohan
Lyrics - Yugabharathi

Pollapaiyya has a lot of strong elements to it like the beautiful voice of Shweta - Haricharan duo, Rock fusion with folk, and comic interludes. But it somehow gets stashed into the standard template and doesn't match expectation.

Kannamma

Singer - Nandini Srikar
Lyrics - Yugabharathi

D.Imman can rightly be called as the master of melodies. Kannamma in the clear and pure voice of Nandini Srikar, fuses with the interluding western and folk elements beautifully. Credits to Yugabharathi for splendidly written lyrics. Kannamma teases melodrama with a melody that works!
