PYAAR PREMA KAADHAL CAST & CREW
1 of 2
Production: K Productions, Ysr Films
Cast: Anand Babu, Harish Kalyan, Munish Kanth, Raiza, Rekha
Direction: Elan
Screenplay: Elan
Story: Elan
Music: Yuvan Shankar Raja
Background score: Yuvan Shankar Raja
Cinematography: Raja Bhattacharjee

High on Love
Vocals: Sid Sriram
Lyrics: Niranjan Bharathi

This was the first single from the Pyaar Prema Kadhal album and it is needless to say that it has become a rocking hit among the younger generation. A song that starts off with an enchanting string section neatly guides itself into the techno genre with Sid Sriram fitting the bill perfectly. The orchestration is on point, and this song works out to be the pick of the album.

Dope Track
Vocals: Yuvan Shankar Raja
Lyrics: Mohanrajan

It is a common notion that if Yuvan chooses to croon a song, it will most often be an interestingly intense track. Dope Track is no less. He begins with a disarming recital of the lyric, after which he brings the string interlude before the rendition. An enticing melody takes center-stage as it slowly transforms itself into an EDM hook as the build-up excites you. Yuvan's expertise in arrangements come in handy when he keeps the string orchestra alive in the background while the dub-step is active on the fore.

Hold Me Now
Vocals: Sanjith Hegde and Thurga
Lyrics: Vivek

In the recent past, we've come to know of Sanjith Hegde's seductively appealing voice texture that effortlessly helps songs like Hold Me Now, which require that extra push to get the audience to tap their feet. Hold Me Now is completely dominated by the techno aspects of music. Just before you start wondering if the lyrics are not falling in the meter of the tune, Yuvan's quirkiness of playing with the tune comes into play. The hook of this song might excite more for a section of the audience as it works in favor of the tune!

Never Let Me Go
Vocals: Suranjan and Shweta Pandit
Lyrics: Oviya Ommaapathy

A song that might stand out in the album in terms of musicality would be Never Let Me Go. Unlike the rest of the album, Yuvan does not go deep into the EDM genre with this track. He stays at the brim of the melody, infusing an interesting classical angle to this tune. Suranjan and Shweta Pandit do their jobs well. The motive of the track might hit the listener with the visuals.

I Will Never Let You Go
Singer: Shweta Pandit
Lyrics: Oviya Ommaapathy

Essentially, this is a purely female version of Never Let Me Go. The same track with vocals restricted to Shweta Pandit alone. However, she doesn't disappoint.

Surprise Me
Vocals: Yuvan Shankar Raja and Priya Mali
Lyrics: Madhan Karky

Like most of the other songs in this album, Surprise me is another mix of instrumentation and techno programming. Though intriguing, Yuvan doesn't surprise us much with this track, as it might fall in the trademark Yuvan melody cadre. His style of rendering this track complements the previous statement, while Priya Mali sounds promising. A shout out to Yuvan for including the flute solo!

Hello
Vocals: Devan Ekambaram

Hello is yet another interesting track from the album, though it sounds like a part of the background score. Devan Ekambaram, along with the male chorus rock the harmonies on this one. The sounding is top-notch.

Lets be Friends?
Vocals: Cliffy Carlton
Lyrics: Elan

Off to a blues-ish start, this song takes an exciting turn into the rock genre. Cliffy Carlton's vocals are just fine, Elan's lyrics are contemporary and Yuvan's tune is catchy. Together they provide something worthy of multiple listens. The guitar riffs stand out!

Secret Window
Vocals: Al-Rufian
Lyrics: Elan

Secret Window sounds like that song that plays after the hero realizes he's in love. At least, that what the lyrics suggest! Al-Rufian brings his husky tone to the forefront, while Yuvan deals with minimal instrumentation. Probably, that is what the mood requires. He keeps it subtle with only the guitar, backing chords and cymbals sounding alive.

Wake Me Up Everyday
Vocals: Teejay Arunachalam
Lyrics: Elan

Wake Me Up Everyday begins with a beguiling flute tune and slides into the bass and beats. The tune works well, as the rest of the instrumentation is repetitive. A section of the listeners may feel that Teejay's presentation of the song could have been better as the voice tones towards the end of the song might sound unappealing.

Miss You Papa
Vocals: Yuvan Shankar Raja and Priya Mali
Lyrics: Elan

This song is a symphonic sad version of High on Love. The mood seems to suggest that the high has turned into a bad trip for the hero. Yuvan brings a sorrowful rendition to accompany the strings that sound great.

It's Over
Vocals: Shweta Pandit
Lyrics: Elan

A 1-minute-song to convey the emotion of a break-up. Shweta Pandit's voice is mellifluous and works well in sorrow too.

Verdict: The romantic musical falls in place for Yuvan as he hits the high note effortlessly
