A trendy yet melodious number paves the feel good beginnings for this musical. The contemporary beats are greatly complemented with sequencing and electric guitars. The vocalist does a neat job in making it an extremely breezy number. The interludes have a retro feel associated with it but fused effectively with peppy nadaswaram. Watch out for the impressive advent of mrudangam in the rhythm section as well!
Yededho Pennae
Singers: Ajesh Ashok, Harini
Lyrics: Na Muthukumar
An almost unexpected diversion occurs with a Far East styled pan flute prelude leading to an another mellowed duet. The trance like effect is convincingly balanced with Hip-Hop styled beats in great ease. The bass work is breathtakingly mellowed yet makes a lasting impact on the listener. However, it is the recurring flute which makes all the difference. G.V.Prakash brings the good natured harmonica as well to complete the feast.
Mohini

The lilting feel continues with another unplugged number this time supported by contrasting tabla rhythm instead. The song has a Sufi essence fused with Tamil aroma all over. The tune is quite hummable and rightfully backed with grand piano in right moments. The lyrics are quite poetic and have an inquisitive expression. The master stroke occurs with an amazing Sarod solo in the first interlude!

The pace increases in a jiffy with an auspicious track which has the international Celtic flavors blended with Tamil Nadu’s folk magic. The song is an unpretentious celebration which breathes excellence in every manner. The guitar solo in the first interlude takes the listener to the realms of East European musical bliss and brings back to the roots of folk music too.

The folksy essence gets better treatment with this track which is high on energy levels and impressive chord progression. The tantalizing flute is rightfully complemented with African tribal rhythms in this regard. The arpeggios make a noted effect which progress at a brilliant yet quirky pace. Despite the tune having a yesteryear feel, it scores well in the experimentation department.
Hey Pennae

The album turns to introspective mode with an emotional alternative rock number. The beats remind the listener of some classic 90s compositions but the treatment is entirely novel. Despite the scope for funkiness, the composer stays true to the feel good impact. The electric guitar and haunting solo humming give the composition a mesmerizing effect.

The finale strikes quite well with a neat instrumental track with gypsy styled strings and compelling chord progression. The track justifies the film’s theme and scores just right in the presentation department.
