On 20th January, a number of actors who are a part of the Nadigar Sangam had participated in a silent protest supporting Jallikattu, held at the Nadigar Sangam ground in Chennai. The actors who participated in the protest included Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Ajith Kumar, Suriya, Vishal, Jayam Ravi, veteran actors Sivakumar, Lissy Priyadarshan, cinematographers PC Sreeram, Rajiv Menon, R Velraj and many others.
The fact that actor Vijay was missing at this event was noticed, but the star made an appearance at the Marina beach early this morning (21st January), to join lakhs of other people in protesting for Jallikattu. Vijay simply walked in sporting a kerchief tied to his face and people failed to recognize him.
It was indeed a great gesture by Vijay!
