“I DON’T THINK MANY PEOPLE HAVE PORTRAYED MY CHARACTER”

Gautham Karthik has recently signed a new film to be directed by a debutant Arumugakumar who has assisted director Dharanidharan. He talks to us about this project and also updates on his others.

Director
Arumugakumar is a very determined director.  When he came to me with the script, I was shooting for Indrajith in Kerala where one cannot reach so easily. You need assistance; have to cross rivers, climb terrains, waterfalls and other deterrents. But he did all this and came to meet me.

Script
It is an exciting script and I am looking forward to it. It’s not a fantasy adventure although we will be shooting in jungles. The film will have elements which are never-seen-before. We are planning to start shoot from mid-February.

My role

It is a dual hero subject and they would soon be finalizing the other hero. I am not allowed to reveal too much. I will be playing an urban college going boy and the story will be about him. He starts travelling and his travels take him to different locations and different experiences. The character per se is so different and I have not portrayed this before. I don’t think many people have portrayed such a character.

Other projects
I am juggling a lot of scripts right now. Muthuramalingam is complete and post production work is going on. We will soon start promotions. Har Har Mahadevki with Santhosh Peter Jayakumar is going pretty fast and we should be wrapping it by January end. Dubbing is going on for Ivan Thandhiran. Rangoon is completed and little bit of CG work is pending in Indrajith.
