There has been quite a few reports recently doing the rounds about drug consumption of actors in Telugu cinema. Most of them have been banished to be rumours and this includes actor Ravi Teja’s mother who has told the media that he has never touched drugs in his life and that he has never smoked as well.
In this context, yesteryear actor Bhanu Chander opened up to the media about his drug addiction and what made him overcome it during the early 1970s prior to his acting career.
Bhanu Chander told the media, “I was then part of a rock band in Mumbai. I got introduced to drugs through friends. It was also stress that led me to taking drugs.”
It is said that it was his brother who rescued him from the grip of narcotics by introducing him to martial arts until he was finally out of it. When he was asked about the growing drug scandal that has hit Tollywood, Bhanu said that it is not right to judge the entire industry.
