Long gone are the days when people used to purchase audio cassettes and CDs and cherish them for years. Now most of us use the online platforms to download a music album and most songs don’t linger in our mind for a longer period.
Today the lifespan of a music album is just around 2 to 5 weeks and only a few albums find a spot in our playlist beyond that period.
But there are a few albums that have overawed us and also continue to grab our attention even after 15 months of its release. According to Aircheck India data, three albums in particular have been extremely strong when it comes to the number of times played in Chennai city airwaves, in the last one and a half years.
Shankar- AR Rahman’s I album which was released on the 15th of September continues to find a spot in the top 15 of aircheck’s weekly list, till today.
Similarly Ajith - Harris Jayaraj’s first collaboration, Yennai Arindhaal, has also turned out be jackpot blockbuster hit; the album which released on the 1st of January 2015 still manages a spot in the top 15.
The other album is AR Rahman - Mani Ratnam’s OK Kanmani, one of the most celebrated love albums of 2015, which released on the 4th of April 2015, continues to compete with the new releases too. It constantly cracks a spot in Top 10, which is a no mean feat.
