Reports and rumours suggested that a sequel of the movie was in the making, but an official information from the makers hadn't arrived.
The director of the movie Ponram has now confirmed a sequel for the movie. He took to twitter to share the news to fans, but placed a huge twist stating that the movie won't have Sivakarthikeyan as lead. "'Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam' part two will happen for sure. Sivakarthikeyan has become too mature for the movie. Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam sequel will have a young and upcoming actor. Podra Vediya," his tweet reads. Although he hasn't revealed who will play the role in sequel, fans are excited to see how the movie will pan out.
