Assembly elections are round the corner and the campaigns are heating up as the D Day is nearing. Tamil cinema and politics have always gone hand in hand and artists align themselves to various political parties as per their preferences.
Recently it was mentioned in a few sections of the media that Vijay fans will be favoring the DMK in this election.
However, there is a press note from Akila India Ilayathalpathy Vijay Thalaimai Narpani Iyakkam that explains the stance of the association. According to it, the association has decided to take a neutral stand in this election. It says, “We have decided to go neutral in this assembly election. We will not extend our support either directly or indirectly to any party.Vijay fans are free to vote for the political party they prefer. But they cannot use the party’s flag or Vijay’s name. Communiqué regarding this has been sent to everyone. Disciplinary action will be taken against violators”.
