Warner Bros. Pictures will distribute their first ever Tamil film. The movie is titled Kanavu Variyam and is directed by Arun Chidambaram. It is touted to be a commercial entertainer that is based on power cuts in villages across India and has won 7 International awards and 15 International honors from 9 countries.
In an exclusive chat with Behindwoods, director Arun Chidambaram said, “It is an honor to be associated with the prestigious Warner Bros. Pictures. Our Kanavu Variyam is the first ever Indian movie to win 2 Remi awards, a feat previously done by very few filmmakers like Steven Spielberg for Jurassic Park, Ange Lee for Life of Pi, etc. Apart from directing, I have also played the lead role in this commercial entertainer that was initially not made for awards but for a theatrical release. For a commercial film based on power cuts to win so many awards is a warm feeling and I am really delighted that Warner Bros. will be releasing Kanavu Variyam. This is a big encouragement and Warner Bros. has given us the confidence for a commercial success.”
He also said that Kanavu Variyam will have a lot of humor and fun catering to all the audiences including kids.
