Pushkar and Gayathri, the director duo, helmed the superhit film Vikram Vedha, that had Vijay Sethupathi, Madhavan and Shraddha Srinath in the lead roles, while Kathir and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar played crucial supporting roles. It had music by Sam CS, and cinematography by P.S Vinod. It was bankrolled by Sashikanth of Y NOT Studios.
The duo had started working on the Hindi remake of Vikram Vedha, produced by Y Not Studios and Plan C Studios which is a collaboration of Reliance Entertainment, and Neeraj Pandey and Shital Bhatia’s Friday Filmworks.
The film received critical acclaim and also did well at the box office. Gayathri and Pushkar have made a new announcement. They've decided to start a new production house, Wallwatcher Films. The official details on the first production will be revealed tomorrow. This is aimed to promote young filmmakers and storytellers.
The duo took to Twitter to announce this, saying: "Many years ago, we heard a couple of scripts from young talented filmmakers which enthralled us. We wanted to produce those films but at that point, we didn't have the resources or the bandwidth. Now, the time has come!
We're excited to embark on a new adventure! The launch of our production house: 'Wallwatcher Films'.
Our focus will be on stories and storytellers.
