Thalapathy Vijay, as we all know, is one of the big stars, who enjoys a huge fan base among the family audience, and as a result, for festive days, we might see his films being telecast.
This time, not just one or two, but three leading Tamil TV channels would be telecasting Vijay's films for the Diwali festival. Three films namely, Theri, Kaththi, Thuppakki, would be telecasted for Diwali. More than all these, Thalapathy's Mersal would be hitting the silver screens on the same day, and it would be a great celebratory day for the fans, both in theatres, and at home.
Meanwhile, films like Maanagaram, Velai Illa Pattathaari 2, are also said to be telecasted for the festive day.
Costume designer Neeraja Kona, for the first time, has designed for Vijay, in Mersal, directed by Atlee. She has taken care of the costumes worn by Thalapathy in the retro flashback portion.
Talking about how she signed this film, Neeraja says, "It was 9 pm in the night and I got a call from Jagdish, Vijay's manager. He told me that I have been confirmed as one of the costume designers for Mersal, and added that I'd get an official call the next day. I asked him if he was joking and he said 'no'. I was on cloud nine and as he said, I got a call the following day. I immediately flew down to Chennai to meet Atlee. For me, it was a fanboy moment, as Raja Rani is a film that is so close to my heart.
Samantha is one of my best friends. I told her that it would be great if she gets to work with Atlee soon, so that I can also work with him. And it happened immediately in Theri, but I missed that film, as I was pregnant at that time.
Very fortunately, once again the opportunity came, and this time, I got the chance to work with them. It was such a dream come true, to style for one of the biggest stars, Vijay sir, that too, in Atlee's film."
