The much awaited first look and title of Vijay’s 61st film are out. Just like Theri, the team has come up with another colloquial Tamil term Mersal which means stunned or astonished.
The first look of Mersal is so very fitting to its title. It shows Vijay in a black inner vest with a striking beard and an apt hairdo. He wears ‘rudraksha’ on his neck, and his pose does signify that he might be playing a farmer in the film. Though it is speculated that he plays a village leader, from this first look one could guess that his role has something to do with the farmers. We are made to think more so because of the Jallikattu type backdrop. The font at the beginning and end of the title appears like the horn and tail of a bull. And also the font is in such a way that in an upside down view, it appears like Vijay.
It has been a while since we last saw Vijay as a villager. This first look poster creates an added curiosity to see how powerful this role of Vijay is going to be.
