Actress Jyothika had hit the headlines for wrong reasons recently when a snippet of her from an award function did heavy rounds on the social media. In the video, she had stressed on the importance of maintaining schools and colleges on par with temples and (other) religious places.
Recalling what happened during the shoot of her film, she mentioned that she was fascinated by the 1010-year-old historical temple in Tanjore which is maintained like a palace. She also pointed out that while shooting a film in a hospital she was horrified to see it in a bad condition. She further requested that people should donate to hospitals and schools instead of temples.
While a sect of people was pretty much impressed by the actress’ bold speech, this speech has hurt the sentiments of a particular sect of religious people which created a lot of debate amongst social media circles.
Meanwhile, a tweet from actor Vijay Sethupathi praising the actress’ bold speech was doing good rounds. However, the actor has made it clear that this statement is totally fake and nothing to do with him.
