Vettri Theatre in Chennai is one of those cineplexes where celebrations for big films have no end. The theatre has been known to be one of the major influencers in the collections of films in Kollywood. They have now taken to Twitter to announce the top 10 films in terms of collections, in the past five years! Read ahead to find out more about the list.
In 2012 the list was topped by Thuppakki, followed by Nanban, Oru Kal Oru Kannadi, Kumki, Naan E, Maattrraan, Billa 2, Sundarapandian, Pizza, and Kalakalappu.
In 2013, Singam 2 lead the table, followed by Raja Rani, Arrambam, Vishwaroopam, Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya, Ethir Neechal, VVS, Soodhu Kavvum, Thalaivaa, and Biriyani.
In 2014, Vijay's Kaththi took the top position, followed by VIP, Lingaa, Kochadaiiyaan, Jilla & Veeram, Madras, Maan Karate, Aranmanai, and Jigarthanda, Anjaan.
In 2015, the epic Baahubali topped the list followed by Thani Oruvan, Ai, Vedalam, Kanchana 2, Yennai Arindhaal, Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, Anegan, Puli, and Kaaki Sattai.
Finally, in 2016, Superstar Rajini's Kabali is right on top, followed by Jungle Book, Remo, AYM, Irumugan, Rajinimurugan, Dangal, Chennai 28 II, Conjuring II, and 24.
In a recent exclusive interview with Behindwoods, the 'Adiye Azhage' actress Nivetha Pethuraj revealed that she was approached for Vijay's Bairavaa but she couldn't do the film.
When she was asked about the viral meme of her gawking at Vijay at Behindwoods Gold Medals, Nivetha replied saying, "I was very conscious not to see Vijay, I know people will be making memes out of it. I was only looking at RJ Balaji but the photo was shot in a way that it looked like I was staring at Vijay."
