AYIRATHIL ORUVAN WRITER PASSES AWAY

Veteran dialogue and story writer RK Shanmugam (87) passed away, yesterday, 12th of September around 6.30 PM due to a heart attack. He has worked in several popular Tamil films including the evergreen MGR film Ayirathil Oruvan.

Shanmugam had been employed as an assistant director to BR Panthulu. He assisted Panthulu in movies like Karnan and Veerapandiya Kattabomman. But he rose to fame when he became the dialogue writer of Aayirathil Oruvan.
