Veteran Tamil script writer and director Vietnam Veedu Sundaram (76) passed away in Chennai, today(6th August). He is survived by his wife Chella and two daughters. Costume designer Anu Parthasarathy happens to be one of his daughters.
He rose to fame with the extremely successful play ‘Vietnam Veedu’ which was later made into a feature film starring Sivaji Ganesan in the lead. He won the Tamil Nadu State Award for Best Dialogues for Vietnam Veedu. He has directed few noteworthy films like Gauravam and Gnana Paravai. Apart from script writing and directing, he has acted in a few films like Kannamoochi Yenada.
