In another shocking news that has left the entire film fraternity deeply saddened is the news of veteran actor Rishi Kapoor’s passing away at the age of 67. This news comes exactly a day after the untimely demise of Irrfan Khan.
Rishi Kapoor was admitted to HN Reliance Hospital on Wednesday. Reportedly he was hospitalised for his cancer related ailment and was in the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital. The actor was battling cancer since 2018 and was treated in US for a year. He then had returned to India in September 2019.
His brother had confirmed that the actor was hospitalised after he complained of breathing problem. Actor Amitabh Bachchan took to his Twitter to share the sad news – “He's GONE .. ! Rishi Kapoor .. gone .. just passed away .. I am destroyed !”
Rishi Kapoor was the son of Indian cinema legend, Raj Kapoor and Krishna Raj Kapoor. He had featured in several blockbuster films and was also a filmmaker. He received the National Film Award for his debut role as a child artist in his father Raj Kapoor’s 1970 film Mera Naam Joker (1970).
The actor is survived by wife Neetu Kapoor and children Riddhima Kapoor Sahni and actor Ranbir Kapoor. May his departed soul rest in peace!
