"ALL THE YESTERYEAR HEROINES LIED AND I KNOW THAT", VARALAXMI ON METOO

In a recent interaction with Behindwoods, as part of Sandakozhi 2 promotions, actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar talked about the currently ongoing MeToo movement.
 

"I am happy now and it is good to see people coming out and speak. I talked about this issue one year before, but now only, people have gained the confidence to open up and it is welcoming. Though we are late, this movement is important for the people to be aware of the things that happen. Our society should change, and this is the time to bring about a new difference.

The sexual abuses and harassments have always been happening in the film industry and it is not something new. But, when I told about that, all the yesteryear heroines were denying my statement and said they never encountered any such incident. They lied and I know that. They went on to all the National TV channels saying, 'what happened to Varalaxmi was an unfortunate incident'. Okay, let them tell whatever they want to. The time has now come. Things will come out.", said Varu.
