Varalaxmi Sarathkumar after her breathtaking performance in Bala’s Thara Thappattai is busy with quite a few films in her kitty. She shares with behindwoods about her impending projects.
“I will soon be working in Ammayi. I signed the film primarily because of its genre, a horror one at that. Besides that, it is not a usual horror genre that you get to see often. Basically horror films are set out to scare people, but here it is more of an emotional drama. I liked the way the director has written his story. It will be a different film. My character is also etched well and it is very challenging. The unit has already begun shooting. I will join them by the first week of July. I am in the process of wrapping up Arun Vaidhyanathan-Arjun-Prasanna film after which, I will join the sets of Ammayi".
On working with Arun’s team, Varu says, “It was good fun working with Arun and his team. It was such a chilled out atmosphere”.
About her Malayalam film Kasaba with Mammootty, Varu says, “Kasaba is done and is due for release for Ramzan. It was great working with Mammootty sir. I have grown up watching his films and I am lucky to have got an offer to work with him. I was nervous on the first day. But it was kind of happy nervousness because I have worked with Bala sir and it gives you more confidence. I need to thank Bala sir for this. My character was also not the run-of-the-mill types and there is negative shade attached to it.
All in all, I would say, this year has been a great one for me with a variety of films. I am also in talks for a few projects. I will announce them once they get firmed up”.
Best Wishes Varu!
