Ashwin recalled the incident in a hilarious way in his YouTube channel while talking about the test series. He was clueless of course, so he googled about it to know what the hype was all about.

If that wasn't enough, Thala fans have reached Southampton too. A photo that was being widely shared on social media, showed a cricket fan (possibly, a Thala fan too) holding a placard during the ICC World Test Championship final between India and New Zealand that read, "Valimai update".

The incident has opened up a comical banter on social media with many asking, "Ingayuma da?" (Here, too?). Another viral video showed a few fans asking R Ashwin again about the update while he was training for the Test.

'Valimai' is helmed by H Vinoth. The most-anticipated movie marks the actor-director duo's second project under Boney Kapoor's Bayview Projects LLP banner post the 2019 courtroom drama 'Nerkonda Paarvai'. The film has also retained the music director Yuvan Shankar Raja and DOP Nirav Shah for this upcoming flick. Actor Yogi Babu had earlier confirmed being a part of the movie too.
