In an exclusive interview with Behindwoods, producer, and actor Udhayanidhi Stalin talks about his work and conversations with Kamal Haasan and also about how the political film, Thalaivan Irrukiran was narrated to him for producing it.
When asked about his experience with Kamal Haasan, he said, ''First, when I met him, I told him I am his fan, and I asked him to do a film for me. He gave a few options, and I said it would be controversial for me to produce them. In fact, Thalaivan Irukkiran was first narrated to me, but I denied it because it was a political subject. I wanted to do a comedy subject with him directed by KS Ravikumar sir. I wanted a light-hearted jolly film. It was the time when he had just completed Dasavathaaram, and I told him I did not want to do anything controversial. That is when we did Manmadan Ambu.''
It is to be noted that Thalaivan Irrukian is now expected to be kick started once again by Kamal Haasan.
