As we all know very well, we have been through a lot of confusion following the ticket rates policy issue and what the decision may be. After interacting with various theater owners, we even noticed the fact that there was a difference in opinions between theater owners themselves. We got in touch with a theater owner (maintaining anonymity due to personal request) from a Town Panchayat to find out his feelings and what he had to say about this problem and the following is an excerpt from the conversation;

"These are some of the ticket rate details for you: The Old slab for a Town Panchayat theater was a Rs.5 minimum for an A/C theatre a maximum of Rs.25, and within this, there were four mandatory slabs. For Non-A/c theaters it was a minimum of Rs.5 and maximum Rs.20. After that, the theater owners demanded a minimum slab of Rs.50 and a maximum of Rs.140 for A/C theaters and Rs.30 minimum and maximum Rs.140 for Non-A/c theaters. Contrastingly, the government order stated that the AC theaters would have a minimum of Rs.10 and a maximum of 31.25 (25 paisa doesn't even exist anymore) and for Non-A/c theaters it is Rs.10 and Rs.25 for minimum and maximum slabs, respectively.

It is complicated for us now. They have issued 15 criteria for a theater complex to become a multiplex. In my opinion, I feel that at least 6 to 7 of those requirements make no sense. For example, apparently a theater's urinal must have an automatic flush and that we must have a home delivery system for tickets. For being in a small town, I don't understand why we need to have these extravagant provisions.

There are several single-screen theaters that provide a better experience than multiplexes, and simply because it is a part of a town panchayat, it is put down, and that is unfair. Just because it is in the city, it doesn't become necessary that they are better off. This feels like single screen theaters are being discouraged.

For even purchasing a shirt or food, the consumer must be able to decide what price is to be paid and where. I feel it is unfair that the government is showing prejudice against this and I wish this can be solved soon."
