Former mayor Saidai Duraisamy’s son Vetri Duraisamy turns director with the Vidharth and Ramya Nambeesan starrer Endravadhu Oru Naal. The film is set in the Kongu region and attempts to capture the lifestyle of the people from the area, according to the director.
"The film is shot in Vellakoil, the drier side of the Kongu belt. The story revolves around a farming family for whom their cattle is of prime importance. What happens when that's threatened and what risks they will take to save them forms the rest of the story," said Vetri Duraisamy in an interview to Cinema Express.
Endravadhu Oru Naal is said to take about the plight of farmers. The cast also includes Ilavarasu and Master Raghavan. The film is likely to hit theatres by next year February.
"There was no second choice for the lead roles. Vidharth has done village-based characters but has never played something as authentic and rustic as this role. Ramya too has been really co-operative in this film," he said further.
