Madhavan is an iconic actor who has expanded his career across many languages. His debut in Kollywood happened with Mani Ratnam's much-adored movie Alaipayuthey. His latest musing on the comparison between Kameswaran and Nala Damayanthi's Ramji character is the one that has pulled him into the spotlight this time.
Nala Damayanthi was a classic comedy film directed by Mouli, written and produced by Kamal Haasan. The film featured Madhavan in the lead role as a cook unfortunately stuck in a foreign land with no possible means to return or stay there. It has actresses Geetu Mohandas and Shrutika playing supporting roles.
Incidentally, there were talks of the movie to be made with Kamal as the lead, but that had not materialized owing to other commitments, paving the way for a wonderful film in Madhavan's career. Recently in reply to a fan's tweet asking whether Ramji (Madhavan's character in Nala Damayanthi) is an extension of Kameswaran, Madhavan has replied: "Yes, I think he is." This reply of the actor has turned heads indeed.
