The Ilayathalapathy Vijay starrer Theri directed by Atlee, released on April 14th for Tamil New Year. The film has done an extraordinary business right from day 1 and even managing some steady business on weekdays.
Yesterday, April 24, it completed its second weekend run with an approximate total gross of 6,49,47,650 INR in 11 days. These are some great numbers. The theatres in Chennai have been cashing in with additional shows for Theri as it couldn’t have a full-fledged release in Chengalpattu district.
Let us see how the other biggies have fared in by the end of their second weekend run at the Chennai city box office. The city has had some additional theatres over the past few months like Palazzo and AGS T Nagar. So show counts wise Theri has a slight advantage over films that released last year.
